      DOL Clarifies the FLSA Definition of "Son or Daughter"  
On June 22, 2010 the Wage and Hour Division issued an interpretation letter clarifying the definition of “son or daughter” under the Family and Medical Leave Act. More information can be found here.
 
  New Notice Requirements for Federal Contractors

In June, 2010 Executive Order 13496 became effective requiring covered contractors and subcontractors to post a notice advising employees of the right to form a union and commit to not interfere with employee rights. Carol Ruebel from the Employers Resource Association explains the requirements here.

 
New Law Requires Two Weeks Military Family Leave

As of July 2nd, 2010 Ohio law requires employers with 50 or more employees to provide up to two weeks of unpaid leave to an employee who is a spouse or parent of a member of the uniformed services called to active duty or injured while on active duty.
