Welcome

Dear Reader,

Welcome to this edition of The Cincinnati Times. As we come into this fourth quarter we hope it has been a good year for you. We are seeing some indications that the economy is improving and hope your business is experiencing the same. One thing is certain, changes are occurring at a very fast rate.

One of the articles included in this edition addresses the implications of using social networking sites for your recruiting requirements. For those of you who still question the value and power of these sites I encourage you to watch this short video. It is another reminder of how quickly things change.

The most widely read article from the prior newsletter introduced a new product that can synchronize your wall clocks, servers, terminals, bells, buzzers and other time dependent systems. Here is that article, please contact me or your account executive if you would like more information.

As always we welcome your input. Please let us know what we can do to better serve you.

Best regards,

Mike Lahm, President

Update on the Most Frequent Complaints/Violations

Terry Henley from the Employers Resource Association provides us with this update about the most common complaints fielded by the Department of Labor. Increasing enforcement along with larger budgets for field inspectors and the emergence of class action lawsuits has created more Wage and Hour activity. Click here for the article. Enhanced Badge Making Capabilities

For years we have been making custom and Photo ID badges for those clients that didn’t want to invest the time and resources into purchasing expensive direct to badge printers. We’ve just purchased a printer using a new technology that prints higher resolution graphics, solid colors and true edge to edge badges.  Examples of what this printer can do can be found here. The price for making the badges has not changed; contact your account executive if you would like more information.

Communication tools that allow your older terminals to talk with new web based software

Are you eager to take advantage of the benefits offered by hosted software but concerned about losing the investment in your current clock terminals? If so, both ADI and NOVAtime offer solutions that allow you to keep your legacy devices. They collect punches through your local network and use your WAN or the Internet to send the information to the designated server or data center. More information on how these work can be found here for NOVAtime clients and here for ADI clients.
